Many film scouts look for places and locations that will suit their project or most resemble whatever is in the script they’re dealing with. Some places, like Los Angeles are over used as big screen material – not to mention expensive nowadays. Interestingly though, Alaska is seemingly not very popular with filmmakers, or at least I haven’t seen anything recently set anywhere in Alaska (though there is that film "Hanna", though it could have been set partly in Canada). Not that you want the state teeming with obnoxious film types with their big budgets and little regard for the surrounds. Perhaps their aversion to it is a good thing. From a purely cinematic viewpoint though, Alaska is priceless and more befitting a screen of the IMAX variety. Anchorage photographers could have a lot to offer to the average cinematographer if he or she was looking for a wild untamed natural wilderness to grace their film.

Do you know how to draw feet? The poor foot is often ignored when we draw the human figure. It gets covered by shoes, or a long skirt or pants. But the humble foot deserves more attention. People’s feet can say nearly as much about them as their hands, and hands are a well-established subject for doing portraits, if you define portraits as rendering someone’s personality.

The main parts of the foot are the ball, the arch, the heel and the toes. As with any other part of the body, you will do well to study how the bones of the foot are put together. It actually gets pretty complicated down there, as the foot has most of the same bones as the hands, but the toes are much shorter, and the “palms” of the foot are longer. Of course, the poor foot has to hold up the entire person, and take all the pounding of walking and running, so it is sturdier and stronger.

Both “Drown the Gown” and “Trash the Dress” are two terms that have caused quite a stir especially with the conservative group as both terms imply destroying the precious garment. With the two activities that involve both terms, the photographer doing the photo shoot doesn’t dictate how extreme the dress should be trashed. The decision lies with the bride, groom or both. With trash the dress photography anything can be done while the bride is wearing her wedding dress. Whether jumping into a pool or getting herself muddy, trash the dress photographers will always be the first ones at the scene to take interesting photos. A photographer would be equally excited if she would like to have a “moment” while being bathed in the warm glow of street lights. So brides would have a time or their lives whether the dress is drowned trashed or saved. The result is amazing.

What I Think About Graffiti and My Opinion of Art

Graffiti can be an art or just a way to make places look run down depending on what it is. I’ve seen some pretty neat graffiti artwork when I was on vacation in the islands. Some graffiti can be soulful and make you stop and think, while other graffiti just makes you think that you want to wash it off. It also makes me wonder, what if some of these artists would actually have access to a studio and professional paint material, what beautiful things they would be able to create and we would be able to see.

I think that every city should have a designated area where graffiti art is welcome.I’m not talking about the graffiti that is just spray painted initials or signs, but the graffiti that some people actually take time to do and think out before painting it. I like looking at the different types of graffiti and the amazing talent. I do not like looking at the type of graffiti that is just defacing a train, building or even vehicle. I think everyone should at least see once how in the right setting and area, graffiti could be beautiful. I do not know the artist, but I have seen one person who does graffiti art using chalk and making the drawings look as if they are real. The only downfall of this is that the drawings are not permanent, but they are breath taking to look at before it is washed away.
